How to Issue Complimentary Tickets
Complimentary tickets are easy to issue in FrontDoor+
Comp tickets are perfect for sponsors, volunteers, VIPs, or anyone you want attending your event at no charge.
This guide shows you how to create comps and send them to guests.
✅ Start by going to Online Orders
- Log in to your FrontDoor+ Event Dashboard.
- Click "EVENTS" and then select your event.
- Click "ONLINE ORDERS" in the event menu (left-side).
This is where you can create new orders, including complimentary ones.
📝 Create a new complimentary order
- Click "NEW ORDER".
- Select the tickets, add-ons, and bundles you want to comp.
- Add the guest’s name and email address - all other fields are optional.
If you are issuing multiple comps to the same guest, you can add all their tickets in one order.
📤 Send the comp tickets
After the comp order is created, you have three ways to finalize it:
- Send by email through FrontDoor+
- The system emails the tickets directly to your guest.
- You can add a custom note to the email before sending.
- This is the easiest method and works well for most situations.
- Download the tickets yourself
- Download the tickets as a PDF.
- You can email them manually using your own message or print them for gift bags, VIP envelopes or in-person pickup.
- Leave the tickets unsent
- The guest’s name is added to your digital guest list.
- The guest can be checked in by name using the Scanner App.
- Useful for intimate events or private lists where scanning a ticket is not required.
All three options create valid complimentary tickets that appear correctly in your reporting.
💡 Tips when issuing comps
- Issue comp tickets before event day so guests have time to open them.
- Double check email spelling to avoid delays.
- You can resend comp tickets anytime from the "ONLINE ORDERS" screen.
- Comped tickets count toward your total capacity.
