How to Promote Your Event Successfully
Simple ways to reach more people and boost your ticket sales
Promotion is one of the most important parts of your event. You do not need advanced marketing skills to see great results.
These tips will help you reach more people, increase awareness and improve ticket sales.
1️⃣ Promote your event on Facebook
Most community organizers rely on Facebook. It is still one of the best ways to reach your audience.
✅ Create a Public Facebook Event
- Add your event ticket link in 'Add Tickets' section of the event setup
- Use a clear image and simple details
- Ask committee members and volunteers to click “Interested” or “Going”
- Keep the event public so more people can find it
✅ Add a “Get Tickets” button to your Facebook Page
- Go to your Facebook Page and click the '...' menu (top right)
- Click on Add Action Button
- Select Get Tickets and hit Next
- Select the 'Link on Website' option and paste in your FrontDoor+ Event link from the Promote section of our Admin Portal
✅ Share posts with your ticket link
- Always include the link in the post
- Avoid posting the link in comments
- Use simple captions that explain what is happening and why it is exciting
- Tag your partners. Tagged partners often share your post and increase your reach.
- Sponsors
- Vendors
- Bands or performers
- Your venue
- FrontDoor+
✅ Post in local Facebook groups
- Look for groups such as:
- “What’s happening in [Town]”
- “Local events this weekend”
- “Things to do in [Region]”
✅ Monitor your comments
Delete comments from fake profiles offering to sell “extra tickets.” This helps protect your guests from scams.
2️⃣ Promote your event on Instagram
Instagram is great for visuals and reminders.- Use simple, bright images: Photos of people, animals, food or attractions at your event often perform best.
- Add your ticket link to your bio. Use a short note like:
- Buy Tickets: your-frontdoor-plus-event-link
- Post reminders and stories
- Share quick updates such as:
- Early bird pricing
- One week to go
- Behind the scenes
- “Buy today” reminders
- Ask committee members to like and share your posts.
3️⃣ Add the ticket link to your website
Make buying tickets easy.
- Use a large “Buy Tickets” button
- Place it at the top of your homepage.
- Link directly to your FrontDoor+ event page.
- Add the link to any Events or Schedule pages
- Keep your information simple and consistent.
- If you make a dedicated page, keep the page clear. One image, a few details and a big “Buy Tickets” button are enough.
4️⃣ Share your event with local community and tourism partners
Most communities have local websites and calendars that highlight “things to do.”
Look for:
- Tourism boards
- Municipal websites
- Local radio and newspapers
- Community bulletins
- Regional “What’s On” listings
- Local bloggers or influencers
Send them your:
- Event name
- Date(s)
- One event image
- Ticket link
5️⃣ Use posters, signs and QR codes
The FrontDoor+ Promote screen gives you a QR code for your event.
Place it on:
- Posters
- Signs
- Handouts
- Bulletin boards
6️⃣ Ask your committee to share the event
People trust recommendations from friends and family more than ads.Ask each board member, director or volunteer to share your event link on Facebook or Instagram. This can reach thousands of people very quickly.
