MODERATION ASSIST

Why:
Adding moderation criteria helps to automatically hide comments from potential scammers, reducing the need for constant monitoring.
 
Where is it:
  • Head to your Facebook Page.
  • Click Professional Dashboard on left hand side.
  • Scroll down Moderation Assist in the Professional Dashboard menu.
Add The following Criteria:
  1. New Account - Auto hides any comment by a Facebook account that is 1 week old or less.
  2. No Friends or Followers – Auto hides any comment by a Facebook account without any friends or followers.
  3. Repeat Offender – Auto hides any comment from a Facebook account with at least three comments reported, deleted, or hidden in the last 30 days.
  4. Link in Comment – Auto hides any comment containing a link.
  5. Keywords In Comments – Auto hides any comment containing specific keywords (list provided below, copy and paste this list):
2 billets,2 tickets,4 billets,4 tickets,5 tickets,attend anymore,available now,below face value,buy my,cashapp,cheap tickets,contact me,direct message,discount price,discount tickets,dm me,extra tickets,first come,first serve,five tickets,four tickets,go anymore,hit me up,limited tickets,me a message,message me,paypal,please buy,sell,selling tickets,serious offers only,tickets available,tickets for sale,un message,urgent sale,venmo,your offer
 
Note: Remember to hit the "+" after pasting the keywords, then click the back arrow and "Add to moderation assist" to save the keyword list.
 
 

WHO CAN POST ON YOUR PAGE SETTING

Why:
Updating this setting blocks people from posting directly on your Facebook Page timeline, reducing the chances of spam.

Where is it:
  • Head to your Facebook Page.
  • Click Settings on left-hand side.
  • Scroll down to Page and Tagging.
Update setting:
  • Update the “Who can post on your Page” setting from “Everyone” to “Only Me”.

 

INDIVIDUAL POST SETTINGS

Why:
Sometimes, you'll want extra protection for posts about "contests" or "tickets selling fast". By default, anyone can comment on your posts.

Where is it:
  • Head to your Facebook Page
  • Scroll to find the post you want to protect.
  • Click the “…” menu on the post.
  • Click “Who can comment on this post?”.
    • Public: Anyone can comment. Suitable for general posts
    • Established followers: Only accounts that have followed your page for more than 24 hours can comment. Ideal for posts about “tickets selling fast” or “contest winners.”
    • Profiles and Pages you follow: Only accounts and pages you follow can comment. Use for important information when scam activity is high.
    • Profiles and Pages you mention: Only mentioned accounts and pages can comment. Use sparingly for specific needs.

EVENT DISCUSSION MODERATION SETTING

Why:
Event discussions are useful for updates and engagement but can attract scammers, especially during high-interest times.

Where is it:
  • Head to your Facebook Page.
  • Click on “Events” on the main menu.
  • Click on your event.
  • Click on “Edit” and then Communication settings”.
    • "Posts must be approved by a host”: Turn this on to review posts before they appear.
    • "Only hosts can post in the event”: Use if you’re getting more spam than legitimate posts.
